the following stand as the Official Constitution of the Kenya Casting Agents Models and Talent Welfare Association, (KECAMTWA). All amendments to this Constitution are made through By-Laws which may be added to enhance and clarify the definitions and descriptions of the Constitution. KECAMTWA Board Officials
Primary Objective
To provide professional and technical support to the stakeholders represented by the association.
Specific Objectives
- To be the authoritative body that standardizes & regulates the talent, casting & modeling agencies in Kenya.
- To safeguard the rights of the talent/artists and agents.
- To register and regulate all talent (models, voice-over artists, actors etc), casting & modeling agencies.
- To negotiate with all the stakeholders (government, advertising agencies etc) for the purpose of remaining relevant and ensuring non-exploitation of represented members.
- To advocate for timely remuneration and compensation of talent and agents.
- To help in the development of the local industry to meet the international standards, through training, education, research and affiliations
Bylaws (Obligation to fellow Members)
- Every member of the association shall carry on his profession and business in such a manner as to uphold the dignity and interest of the association
- Members are required to use fair methods of competition
- Members shall not make attacks of a personal character upon competitors or member agencies
- Members shall not involve themselves in any medium that is indecent, vulgar, suggestive, repulsive or offensive in theme or treatment
- Members shall not involve themselves in any medium as concerns a product known to the member to contain habit-forming or dangerous drugs, or in any medium which may cause money loss to the reader /public, or injury in health or morals, or loss of confidence in reputable casting and honorable business or which is regarded by the executive committee/board of KECAMTWA as unworthy. In the event of a member proving to the satisfaction of the executive committee/board that a client has withdrawn his account on the grounds of the members refusal to undertake unethical advertizing (as described above) no other member shall accept any business whatsoever from the said client
- If any member agency’s client decides to change his agency either without clearing undisputed bills or without making any definite arrangements to repay the amount due, other member agencies will not accept such account unless and until both the agencies are satisfied that the advertiser/client concerned has made arrangements for payment to the previous agency
- Any member relinquishing an account on the ground of slow payment, doubtful credit or incurring a bad debt, shall immediately notify the secretary of the association and such information be circulated in strictest confidence and protection of other member
